National Bass and Cello is a Canadian company specializing in the sale and distribution of new American made bass fiddles and cellos.
These instruments are made by U.S. manufacturer, Engelhardt-Link Inc. of Elk Grove, Illinois.

Engelhardt Basses and Cellos are made to conform to the rigid standards drawn up by the String Committee of the Music Educators National Conference.  All of Engelhardt’s Basses and Cellos feature lightweight laminated construction for the finest tone and serviceability.  They are moisture, temperature and climate proofed.
All instruments have rock hard maple necks which resist warping.  The tops and backs are fully arched, properly sized and aligned for sensitive response to make the Engelhardt instrument easier to play. 

Engelhardt’s Guarantee
Engelhardt-Link Inc. guarantees these instruments to the original purchaser against defects in material or workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.  Engelhardt agrees to repair or replace the instruments, without charge, if found to be defective due to any fault of theirs.  This guarantee does not cover natural wear of the instruments, replacement of strings or mishandling. 

Standard Basses are regulation ¾ size.  Overall length, 72 inches; scale or string length, 42 inches.  Designed for students 15 years and over

Junior Basses are ¼ size.  Overall length, 62 inches; scale or string length, 35 ¼ inches.  For students from 9 to 15 years.

Standard Cellos are 4/4 size.  Overall length, 48 ½ inches; scale or string length, 27 ½ inches.  For students 15 years and over.

Intermediate Cellos are ¾ size.  Overall length, 44 inches; scale or string length, 25 ¼ inches.  For students from 13 to 15 years.

Junior Cellos are ½ size.  Overall length, 40 ¼ inches; scale or string length, 22 ¾ inches.  For ages 8 to 12.

National’s aim in providing our customers with new, freshly made products at reasonable prices, and without delivery scratches, is accomplished in two ways. 

First, we keep overhead expenses to a minimum by eliminating the presence of a large show room.  We, instead concentrate on procuring the exact instrument our customers are seeking, freshly made and ready to go without the hand mauled characteristics found on some showroom instruments.

Second, to guarantee care in transit for these special cargos, we manage our own delivery direct from the manufacturer.

We will always have at least one of the most popular models in stock for demonstration purposes, but our method is to fill orders quickly, upon request.
The new instruments can be picked up in Richards Landing, Ontario, or arrangements can be made for National Bass and Cello to deliver direct to our customer’s door.  A nominal delivery fee, based on the distance from our facility in Richards Landing, Ontario to the final destination will apply.
